Medical Supply Recovery Program
Participate in or help establish a medical supply recovery program at your healthcare facility. MedWish International partners with local hospitals, clinics, and medical offices to set up recycling bins to donate unused medical supplies and equipment. Volunteers assist in the program by placing donated supplies in the bins, emptying bins as needed, and transporting supplies to the designated storage area within the medical facility.
Sorting Parties
On the first and third Saturdays of the month from 10 am- 12:30 pm MedWish International hosts sorting parties. These bi-monthly events have medical and non-medical volunteers working together at the warehouse to sort through the donated medical supplies. At the sorting parties, non-medical volunteers work to form piles of “like” items and then the medical volunteers identify each pile and place it into inventory. Beverages and snacks are served.
Small Supply Pick-Up
While the majority of donated medical supplies that we collect come from the area hospitals, sometimes we get calls from individuals that have small quantities of unused supplies at their home. MedWish International is looking for a network of volunteers who are willing to do these pick-ups when they are in the neighborhood and then drop off the supplies at the warehouse. Sign-up to be on the e-mail network for small pick-up jobs.
Special Events Committees
MedWish International hosts an annual event to raise funds to support the organization’s good work. There are many aspects of the event that need volunteers' help. These include fund-raising, advertising, silent auction, corporate sponsorship, graphic design and logistics. Join the event committee and help MedWish International continue to touch lives all around the globe.
Donate Your Talent
MedWish International is always looking for volunteers with special skills to help with projects within the organization. We are looking for individuals who may be able to donate skills such as graphic design, website design, public relations, accounting, office support, biomedical engineering, and many other projects. If you would be willing to donate your time and special interest, MedWish International would be very excited to work with you.
